Austin

This is for your Entertainment

Yeah I figure out how to get the pictures on my page!

There is a small piece from the Hadley reading. Will technology make teachers more effective or students better learners?(Hadley) Technology is unavoidable. We would not be where we are in life with out it. Our futures will depend on technology. As for is making teachers more effective this I am unsure of this depends on the teacher. Part of my curriculm at school there is a unit on technology basic things such as parts of and knowing why we use them. Which will be helpful to student in their futures.

Language Update

I really enjoy the software and learning new words and maybe be able to understand a couple words now and then. I really like that my son enjoys the software too and is learning new words. Where were these programs years ago when I took my first ojibwe language class with Amik?

Thanks for sharing Brian. There's nothing I dis like so far.

Language Programs

I love the language programs!!! I was doing the activities and my favorite is the pronunciation part. Its glorious to be able to practice the language in the privacy of your own home. I had Lance and my son say a couple of words. They seemed to get a kick out of it. Austin was practicing a couple words and he thought it said "the chicken is salty". We laughed so hard! He really enjoyed learning the language and he is four. They should create a program for kids they would love it. Maybe counting, numbers, and animals to start. As for the rest of the activites such as crossword, and guessing the meaning are still difficult for me but, Im sure with a little practice it would be fun. I'll keep praticing.

Elder Clip

Have I watched the video clip 5 times now. I only picked up on 4 words Giga-waabamin, asemaa, miigwech, and geget. On the fifth time I heard language and seen the dog laying on the couch. From this clip I was under the impression that both parties felt a bit uncomfortable or maybe just didn't know each other well. The Elder obviously new the women was going to ask for something as soon as she offered her tobacco. The setting took place at the elders home. What they were doing is conversing and their interaction as a stated above they seemed uncomfortable in the beginning. After the lady asked her to for help learning the language she seemed relieved. There was a quiet pause at the end. I moment of uncomfortable silence. I love the dialoge without it I would have been lost. These programs are hopefully going to teach me new words and phrases.

P.S.

P.S. sorry about he scary slideshow, I do not know those people or how they got on my blog.
